Three Arrested for Assault on Woman in Angul – News12 Odisha



Bhubaneswar : A woman was allegedly assaulted on July 3 while travelling with her nephew near Chhendipada in Odisha’s Angul district. She had stopped in a roadside forest when three men, arriving on a tractor, forcibly attacked her.

The victim filed a complaint days later at Bagdia police station. Acting swiftly, Angul police formed three special teams under the direct supervision of the SP. A forensic team and dog squad were deployed, leading to the arrest of all three accused.

Police seized key evidence including the tractor, mobile phones, clothes worn during the assault, and biological samples. The case has been classified as a “Red Flag” and “special report” category.

Authorities have committed to filing a charge sheet within 30 days and have proposed a fast-track trial to ensure strict and timely justice.
