Speeding Truck Kills Family of Three in Keonjhar – News12 Odisha

Bhubaneswar : A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a man, his wife, and their daughter near Jagmohanpur on National Highway 49 under Telkoi police limits early Wednesday morning.

The victims, identified as Tankadhar Patra, his wife, and their daughter from Bahadapashi village in Deogarh district, were travelling on a motorcycle to drop their daughter at school when a speeding container truck coming from the opposite direction rammed into them.

The impact was so severe that all three died on the spot. Telkoi police have launched an investigation and seized the truck near Jashipur toll gate, but the driver remains absconding.

Outraged by the incident, locals staged a roadblock on NH-49 demanding strict action against the accused driver and better road safety measures to prevent future mishaps. The protest disrupted traffic for hours until authorities assured appropriate action.
