Soumyashree Bisi’s Brother Files Police Complaint Over Objectionable Social Media Posts – News12 Odisha

Bhubaneswar : The brother of Soumyashree Bisi, the Fakir Mohan (FM) College student who died after attempting self-immolation, has filed a complaint at Bhogarai police station against four individuals for posting objectionable content on social media.
According to the complaint, the posts were allegedly defamatory and emotionally distressing for the grieving family. He urged authorities to take strict legal action against those involved.
Police officials confirmed they are treating the complaint with seriousness and have begun an investigation.
Soumyashree, 20, had reportedly set herself on fire on July 12 on the FM College campus after alleging mental and sexual harassment by the Head of the Education Department. She suffered over 95% burns and later died at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Monday night.
Her last rites were held in her native village in Bhograi, Balasore district. The incident has triggered public outrage, leading to the arrest of the college principal and HOD, who were also suspended by the Higher Education Department.
