Odisha Tops in Fund Utilisation Under PMKSY 2.0 – News12 Odisha



Bhubaneswar: Odisha has emerged as the best-performing state in the country in utilising funds under the Watershed Development Component of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (WDC-PMKSY 2.0).

Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while reviewing the progress of states and UTs through a video conference on Thursday, commended Odisha for achieving the top rank with 83 percent utilisation of its sanctioned outlay.

The WDC-PMKSY 2.0 project, spanning 2021-22 to 2025-26, carries a total outlay of Rs 759.27 crore with a 60:40 Centre-State funding share. Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo presented Odisha’s performance during the review meeting.

Singh Deo also announced that seven new projects have been sanctioned for FY 2025-26, covering 30,212 hectares of degraded and rainfed land. With an additional outlay of Rs 82.10 crore, these projects aim to enhance agricultural productivity through integrated watershed management.

Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, and senior officials participated in the virtual review.
