Odisha Pushes Healthcare Innovation with AIIMS–KIIT-TBI Partnership – News12 Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to Odisha’s healthcare innovation ecosystem, AIIMS Bhubaneswar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) and Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation. The collaboration aims to create a strong platform for developing, validating, and deploying healthcare technologies while promoting clinical entrepreneurship and attracting startups to Odisha.
The partnership will establish Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in healthcare, diagnostics, and digital health. These will focus on medical product development, technology validation, skill-building, and entrepreneurship, strengthening Odisha’s role in national healthcare innovation.
Through this MoU, the three institutions will conduct startup bootcamps, regulatory workshops, and investor roundtables. Real-world testing of telehealth platforms, AI-based diagnostic tools, and remote monitoring devices will also be facilitated.
Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, said the initiative would position the institute as a national translational innovation hub. Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO of KIIT-TBI, added that the effort would attract healthcare startups and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
The move is expected to strengthen Odisha’s healthcare sector, foster innovation, and bridge gaps in specialist medical solutions.
