Odisha Disburses ₹5,000 Crore Under Third Installment of Subhadra Yojana – News12 Odisha

Bhubaneswar : On Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi disbursed the third installment of Subhadra Yojana funds from Jeypore’s Bankabija. Over 1 crore women across Odisha will receive ₹5,000 each directly into their bank accounts under this phase, totaling ₹5,000 crore. In Koraput district alone, more than 2,000 women are covered.
The scheme provides ₹10,000 annually in two installments to help women become self-employed. Since its launch, over 1.06 crore women have received the first installment and 98.82 lakh have received the second.
Deputy CM Pravati Parida said a statewide review began on July 22 to assess how beneficiaries spent earlier funds. More than 22,000 Anganwadi workers, PRI members, SHG members, and students will conduct checks via a special app over the next month. Security for the Jeypore event included 30 platoons of police, and students of Parabeda Saraswati Bidya Mandir tied Rakhis to the CM.
