Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has once again proven he’s a champion both on and off the field, after his heartwarming gesture of helping a financially challenged student from Karnataka pursue her higher education garnered widespread praise.Pant stepped in to support Jyoti Kanaboor Math, a meritorious student from Rabakavi village in Bilagi taluk of Bagalkot district, who had scored 83% in her II PUC (Class 12) but was unable to afford the Rs 40,000 admission fee for a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course at BLDE College, Jamkhandi.

Her hopes were revived when local contractor Anil Hunashikatti, moved by her determination, reached out to friends in Bengaluru, one of whom was close to Rishabh Pant. The cricketer was immediately touched by Jyoti’s story and on July 17, transferred Rs 40,000 directly to the college, covering her first-semester fee.

“I completed my II PUC in Galagali and had a dream of pursuing BCA. But our financial condition was not good,” Jyoti was quoted as saying by IANS. “I approached Anil anna, who contacted his friends. They reached out to Rishabh Pant, and he helped me. May God bless him with good health. His help means a lot to me.”In a letter addressed to Pant, the college expressed deep gratitude: “We extend our heartfelt appreciation for your generous gesture of personally paying the first semester admission fee. We sincerely hope your support to underprivileged students continues.”Pant’s quiet act of kindness, done without fanfare, has earned him admiration as a role model off the pitch.
