As for the match, India reached 72 for 2 at lunch on a green pitch at The Oval after losing both openers early. Jaiswal was dismissed by Atkinson for 2, while KL Rahul dragged one onto the stumps off Woakes for 14.Shubman Gill and debutant Sai Sudharsan steadied the innings before rain forced early lunch. India made four changes, with Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Karun Nair and Dhruv Jurel all coming in. England also missed key players including Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer.
