Bangladesh Air Force Jet Crashes Into School Building in Dhaka – News12 Odisha

Bhubaneswar : A Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed into a school building in Dhaka’s Uttara area on Monday afternoon, resulting in at least one confirmed death and several injuries, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Bangladesh Armed Forces.
The Chinese-made F-7 BGI aircraft took off at 1:06 PM local time and crashed around 1:30 PM into the Milestone School and College building, triggering a fire and widespread panic.
According to a report by Prothom Alo, the Fire Service confirmed the death of one person. Rescue operations are ongoing, with eight units from various fire stations including Uttara, Tongi, Pallabi, Kurmitola, Mirpur, and Purbachal on site. The Bangladesh Army also responded swiftly to assist in rescue efforts.
Four injured individuals were airlifted by a Bangladesh Air Force helicopter and taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). Videos on social media show others being carried away from the site with injuries, reportedly transported to nearby hospitals including Uttara Adhunik Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and Kurmitola General Hospital.
Eyewitnesses described the chaos that unfolded. A teacher from Milestone College told The Daily Star that the jet crashed into the front side of the three-storey school building, trapping several students. College staff rushed to help rescue the students before emergency responders arrived.
Firefighters and civil defence personnel remain at the site, working to fully extinguish the fire and search for anyone potentially trapped under the debris. An investigation into the cause of the crash is expected to follow.
