79th Independence Day was celebrated at IFFCO, Paradeep Unit on 15th August 2025.



On this occasion, senior officials, employees, Union & Association members, and residents of IFFCO Township along with children gathered to commemorate the historic day and witness the grand ceremony and impressive parade. Chief Guest Shri P.K. Mahapatra, Unit Head of IFFCO, hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering.

In his address, Shri P.K. Mahapatra highlighted the significance of Independence Day as a tribute to the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters for the nation’s sovereignty.

He emphasized the responsibility of every citizen to safeguard the nation’s integrity and values, especially in the current era of global uncertainties and shifting geo-political scenarios. He encouraged employees to work with utmost dedication towards achieving the organization’s goals, thereby contributing to the nation’s progress.

Shri Mahapatra underlined IFFCO’s unwavering commitment to serving farmers across the country, staying true to its cooperative spirit. He acknowledged the various awards and recognitions earned by the Paradeep Unit in recent years, which stand as testimony to the dedication and hard work of its employees. He also congratulated Shri K.J. Patel for assuming charge as the Managing Director of IFFCO, under whose leadership the organization is poised for even greater achievements.

Highlighting the recent milestones, he spoke about the successful hosting of the Inter Unit Cultural Festival (IUCF) by the Paradeep Unit, which was graced by IFFCO Chairman Shri Dileep Sanghani in the opening ceremony, and the grand celebration of the Rath Yatra festival within the township, which fostered a spirit of unity and cultural pride. He also appreciated the remarkable activities carried out by IFFCO DAV Public School and the Jyoti Ladies Club in the fields of education, culture, and social welfare.

Shri Mahapatra further reminded everyone to strictly follow all safety guidelines, both at the workplace and in daily life, stressing that safety is an integral part of IFFCO’s work culture. He concluded by urging all employees to channel their efforts towards strengthening the organization and, in turn, the nation.

On this occasion, IFFCO security personnel, SIS security guards, and students of IFFCO DAV Public School presented a Guard of Honour in the august presence of the Unit Head. Children from IFFCO DAV Public School and members of Jyoti Ladies Club performed a variety of cultural programmes, which were highly appreciated by the audience.

The event was graced by all key officials, along with IFFCO Officers’ Association President Shri Sushant Kumar Jena, General Secretary Shri Satyajit Khuntia, IFFCO Employees’ Union President Shri Prasanta Kumar Swain, and General Secretary Shri Truputi Ranjan Puhan, who witnessed the celebrations. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri B K Parida, Actg. DGM (P&A).
